The stairway is the
main entrance to the theater. From the outside, the entrance is not
particularly elaborate. Very few of the opera houses did have any grand
marquees to entice the public. The opera house was there and everyone in
the town or surrounding community knew it.
The
stairs lead you past the double doors into the grand 108-seat auditorium.
Are you a Lewisville High Alumni? On the way, you will see numerous class
pictures from Lewisville High School starting from the near 30s to 1969.
Although the school is now history, locals could name numerous alumni just by
looking at the dated pictures.

At the top of the stairs are two doors.
There is nothing too special about the doors, except for the original brass push
plates. One flash shot of the camera shows the beautiful intricate design
that often goes unrecognized. This is just one of the many little details
that prompted a well regarded preservation architect to call the Guyer "the
best preserved opera house of its type in Indiana."
